Dr. Hayworth is an Associate Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Auburn University. Dr. Hayworth has an MS in Hydrology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) through the Desert Research Institute (DRI), and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Hydrology/Hydraulics) from Auburn University. Dr. Hayworth has worked at the Tennessee Valley Authority Engineering Laboratory and the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in their environmental research group. In 1999, Dr. Hayworth started Hayworth Engineering Science, an applied science and engineering firm. In 2010, Dr. Hayworth returned to Auburn to again pursue my research interests. Dr. Hayworth is interested in coupled hydrologic, geologic, chemical, and biological processes, functions, and effects within estuarine, terrestrial, and freshwater ecosystems. Dr. Hayworth is interested in better comprehending the influence of human activities on these processes, functions, and effects, ultimately leading to the restoration of human-impacted natural systems.
