EPA Office of Research and Development
Caleb Buahin is a researcher in the Water Infrastructure Division of EPA’s Office of Research and Development. His research is focused on advancing integrated hydrologic and hydrodynamic modeling frameworks for water systems, including the maintenance and advancement of the EPA’s Stormwater Management Model (SWMM)and on the intersection between these models and emerging artificial intelligence/machine learning.
Before joining the EPA ORD, Caleb was Lead Hydroinformatics Engineer for Xylem Inc.’s Wastewater Network Optimization team, where he supported Long Term Control Plan (LTCP) development and real time control and decision support systems. He also worked for Environmental Resources Management Inc. as a Project Engineer, for the oil and gas, power, and mining sectors. Caleb obtained his BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University, Provo Utah and his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering Utah State University, Logan Utah.
