Rafaela Martelo is an undergraduate research assistant at Rutgers University, where she earned a Bachelor's in Mathematics with a focus on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in December 2023, officially part of the class of 2024. After transferring from Middlesex County College in 2022, Rafaela actively participated in a range of projects from the Nanosatellite Program exploring fuel sloshing in space to developing an AI Assistant for flood risk management under the mentorship of Dr. Wang, a respected assistant professor at Rutgers University. Alongside her research, Rafaela also started a Machine Learning Engineering Bootcamp at the University of California, San Diego, completing it in February 2024. This experience, combined with her academic and research endeavors, showcases her dedication to applying innovative technologies to environmental challenges. Rafaela is thrilled to share her project and insights at the 2024 World Environmental & Water and Resources Congress.
