Qazi is a PhD student in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), specializing in sediment transport in water bodies. His current research focuses on scour in cohesive soil environments. He earned his MSc from UTA in 2022 and his BSc from the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) in 2018. Qazi has contributed to three TxDOT (Texas Department of Transportation) projects and is the author/co-author of over eight published scientific journal articles and conference papers. His interests include hydraulic and sediment transport modelling, hydraulic structure design, and effective flood and drainage management. Prior to joining UTA in 2021, Qazi worked as a Water Resources Analyst at AHYDTECH Water Resources (BD) Ltd in Bangladesh. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies or series, spending time with family and friends, and following sports. He is also an avid traveler.
