Dr. Ahmari, P.E., is an associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) and a licensed professional engineer in Texas (U.S.) and Ontario (Canada). He has over twenty years of experience in industry, research, and teaching, specializing in water resources, sediment transport, erosion studies, and river morphology. He received his PhD from Queen’s University, Canada, and his BSc and MSc from Sharif University, Iran. Before joining UTA in 2015, Dr. Ahmari worked for ten years on various capital projects in Canada. His applied research and engineering contributions have been widely recognized, with over 40 scientific journal and conference papers, one book, and one book chapter to his credit. His research has been funded by TxDOT, the City of Fort Worth, NCTCOG, the Texas General Land Office, Manitoba Hydro (Canada), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and UTA Libraries.
