Graduate Research Assistant
Morgan State University
Atieh Hosseinizadeh, a Ph.D. student in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Morgan State University since Fall 2023, brings over a decade of experience in groundwater modeling and climate change research to her role. She earned her B.S. and M.S. degrees in water resources engineering from Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, Iran. Her research interests encompass hydrogeology, groundwater modeling, rainfall-runoff modeling, and the impacts of climate change on water resources and environmental phenomena, particularly extreme events. In addition to her academic pursuits, she serves as a research assistant at Morgan State University, where she is deeply involved in a project initially funded by SHA and further supported by UTC. This project focuses on "Slope Instability Forecasting System Based on Precipitation Data." Also, she plans to improve the system by incorporating precise infiltration amounts simulated through a rainfall-runoff model and investigating the implications of climate change on this process.
