Ecohydrologist

Marina Howarth, M.S. is an ecohydrologist contracted with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ team for wetland research. She recently graduated her M.S. in Civil Engineering (’23) with a thesis on nature-based solution (NBS) fluvial flood mitigation potential, a minor in Biogeochemistry and a fellowship in Transdisciplinary Landscape Design from the Pennsylvania State University. Her research efforts include NBS for fluvial systems, permitting and implementation of NBS, a marsh grain-size analysis for beneficial use of dredged sediment, wetland delineations, and a watershed analysis of landcover and flow-restricting structure impacts to wildrice productivity.
