Research Scholar
Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India
I am Suchismita Subhadarsini, a Research Scholar at the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, India in Water Resources and Environment Engineering Department. I did my master from Indian Institute of Kanpur, India in Geoinformatics specialization. I have an industrial experience of 3 years in various organisation working in different practical problem like Remote Sensing, Hydrology, Flood Forecasting modelling and Hydro informatics etc. After graduating with distinction, I chose to work as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at Indian Institute of Technology Madras with a specialization in Hydrology in the Civil Engineering. I completed a project titled “Comprehensive scientific study to suggest improvements to drainage systems inside and outside the airport premises” at IIT Madras funded by Airport Authority of India. I also worked on a project named “Design of an Expert System for Flood Forecasting and Management for the city of Chennai” in IIT Madras, funded by GOI. As the next destination in this journey, I landed at NRSC (National Remote Sensing Centre) as a Research Scientist. I worked on a flood modelling project named, “Development of Real-time Spatial Flood Early Warning System for Godavari basin”, jointly funded by Government of India and World Bank. The primary objective of this project was to develop a flood forecasting system for the entire river basin of India using MIKE Module.
My current Research Interest is on analysing and understanding the LandUse LandCover Change and its interaction with extreme events.
