Sam Kraus has just received his Master's from Virginia Tech in Civil Engineering. His research has focused on fluvial systems and sediment transport, working with Dr. Kyle Strom and the rest of his research group to study how sediment and water interact. Sam has a big passion for ecology and enjoys the applications his research may have to improving natural systems. His research for graduate studies has focused on signal processing of acoustic Doppler velocimeter data and assessing the hydraulics and incipient motion of gravel fish nests.
