Sumon Hossain Rabby is a Ph.D. student and Graduate Research Assistant at Florida State University, focusing on water quality, hydroclimatic extremes, and environmental sustainability. His research integrates statistical and machine learning models to assess the vulnerability of coastal and estuarine systems to pollution under changing climate conditions. Sumon is currently part of the Resilient Infrastructure & Disaster Response (RIDER) Center, where he investigates eutrophication and harmful algal blooms in the Apalachicola Bay, Florida, and also interns with the National Science Foundation (NSF) on environmental sustainability projects (Env Sust Supplement Grant).
Sumon has published in Water Research and contributed to international conferences. His expertise spans data analytics, machine learning, GIS, and programming, with a commitment to developing practical solutions for coastal resilience and environmental health. Previously, he worked as a Research Associate with the UKRI-GCRF Living Deltas Hub at BUET, Dhaka in addressing water management challenges in the Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna delta.
