Abbas Sharifi is a Research assistant and a PhD student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Florida International University. He studied mechanical engineering at Urmia University in Iran between 2010 and 2014. In 2016, he graduated from the Urmia University of Technology (UUT) with a master's degree in mechanical engineering. Besides handling the fluid dynamics laboratory at UUT, he also was responsible for teaching OpenFoam and C++ programming. His master's thesis aimed to study the effects of magnetic drug targeting in blood vessels. Abbas has experience working on multidisciplinary research projects. As a researcher in artificial intelligence (gene expression programming, neuro-fuzzy algorithms, and wavelet), he published several articles on biomedical engineering. In addition, he completed numerous projects in image processing related to neuroscience, COVID-19, breast cancer, and machine learning.
