Melissa Beckman is an environmental water resources graduate student in civil engineering at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky, USA. She received her B.S. from the University of Kentucky in Civil Engineering and is pursuing a M.S. in Civil Engineering at the University of Kentucky. Her research focuses on decomposing the data collected from sensors to reveal long-term and seasonal trends in the data and she is currently working on developing a predictive model that will help fill in data gaps. Melissa is part of the research team at the University of Kentucky Hydrolab for data collection using high-resolution sensors, funded by the NSF SENSE project and NSF SUCCESS program. Furthermore, she is the lead participant in the NSF IM Hub program that helps middle school and high school students learn about water resources engineering.
