Darren is a licensed civil engineer with 18 years of hydraulic design experience. His professional experience includes hydraulic structure design; river engineering; stream restoration; streambank revetment design; physical modeling of dam, river, fish passage, wastewater, and stormwater facilities; and one- and two-dimensional hydraulic modeling. Most of his design work focuses on resolving issues related to sediment transport and aquatic species passage. In that vane, he works to balance the complexities of natural systems and use these processes to sustainably balance sediment, hydraulic, and biological requirements. Darren’s doctoral research and graduate studies focused on bedload transport, stream restoration, and advanced hydraulic design and provided field and laboratory experience sampling bedload and experimental data collection.
