Director of Environmental Sustainability City of Milwaukee
"The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works - Environmental Engineering Section has been building Green Storm Water Infrastructure since 2008 and continues to look at new opportunities to build additional green infrastructure as well as more efficient ways to maintain what has been built. This presentation is an overview of what has been built to date, how projects are changing in scale and scope, and how we contract maintenance activities.
The City’s Environmental Collaboration Office further supports the goals of the Milwaukee Green Infrastructure Plan through resident education using the lens of the Water Centric City Initiative. Audiences such as neighborhood organizations, students and teachers, and local non-profits are engaged through ECO Neighborhood Teams, a Water Current Walking Tour, public Green Infrastructure ArcGIS map, and other actions.
